An experimental investigation was undertaken to study the Cobalt-based Stellite 6, powder deposited on SS 304 stainless steel substrate without any intermittent layer using an atmospheric plasma spray deposition process by varying the thickness of coating in the range of 74 µm, 128 µm, and 215 µm. The effect of coating thickness on metallurgical properties and corrosion resistance behavior was investigated. Optical microscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS) were employed to study the morphology of Stellite 6 coating. X-Ray Diffraction was used for structural analysis and to identify the phase formation. It was observed that the sample with 128 µm coating thickness provides the best result concerning microhardness and microstructure characteristics whereas the sample with 215 µm coating thickness provides the best corrosion resistance property. The reasons for the deviation were investigated and the factors responsible for the deviation were assigned in this investigation.

Under solvent-free conditions, a simple and efficient procedure has been developed for the Michael addition reaction of active methylene compounds to β-nitrostyrenes. The resulting Michael adducts are efficiently converted into functionalized pyrazole derivatives with hydrazine hydrate in excellent yields. All the compounds were well characterized by spectroscopic techniques.

Fused heterocyclic derivatives have become an important scaffold nowadays, which could be used as a template in drug development and medicinal chemistry. Benzimidazole moiety is an imperious aromatic heterocycle which is frequently present in naturally occurring products such as purines, vitamin B 12 and histidine as well as synthesized bioactive compounds, indomethacin and albendazole, for example. This study comprises widespread and comprehensive literature analysis on chemical reactivity and biological properties associated with Benzimidazole containing molecules. Benzimidazole ring structure possesses an extensive variety of pharmacological activities in several medications of therapeutic interest against a variety of diseases such as hypertension, malaria, cancer, microbial diseases, inflammatory disorders, etc. Furthermore, this fused heterocycle benzimidazole core might interact with various anions and cations in addition to biomolecules over different reactions in the human body, therefore exhibiting wide-ranging biological activities such as antineoplastic, antibacterial and antifungal, anti-inflammatory and analgesic, antihypertensive, antiviral and antidepressant. In this review, we are focusing on the chemistry and recent biological activities, designing approaches, and SAR (structure-activity relationship) data of different benzimidazole-based analogues during the past years.

The behavior of clay minerals in expansive soils causes them to exhibit shrink-swell characteristics, making them unsuitable for engineering purposes in their natural state. To address this problem, researchers conducted direct shear experiments using fly ash as an admixture and black cotton soil as an expanding soil to explore the strength parameter. The experiments were conducted with varying amounts of fly ash ranging from 2% to 20%. Two arrangements of test series were made, and in the principal series, tests were made utilizing five unique densities and comparing dampness contents. The outcomes showed that the point of inside grating and union expanded directly up to the ideal dampness content and most significant dry thickness before diminishing. The subsequent series showed that the end of inward rubbing grew straightly with the expansion of fly debris admixture, yet attachment reduced after 10% admixture. The Jaya algorithm is a recently developed novel population-based algorithm. The proposed work presents the modifications in the existing many-objective Jaya (MaOJaya) algorithm by integrating the chaotic sequence to improve the performance to optimize many-objective benchmark optimization problems. The MaOJaya algorithm has exploitation more dominating, due to which it traps in local optima. The proposed work aims to reduce these limitations by modifying the solution update equation of the MaOJaya algorithm. The purpose of the modification is to balance the exploration and exploitation, improve the divergence and avoid premature convergence. The well-known chaotic sequence - a logistic map integrated into the solution update equation. This modification keeps the MaOJaya algorithm simple as well as, preserves its parameterless feature. The other component of the existing MaOJaya algorithm, such as non-dominated sorting, reference vector and tournament selection scheme of NSGA-II is preserved. The decomposition approach used in the proposed approach simplifies the complex many-objective optimization problems. The performance of the proposed chaotic based many-objective Jaya (C-MaOJaya) algorithm is tested on DTLZ benchmark functions for three to ten objectives. The IGD and Hypervolume performance metrics evaluate the performance of the proposed C-MaOJaya algorithm. The statistical tests are used to compare the performance of the proposed C-MaOJaya algorithm with the MaOJaya algorithm and other algorithms from the literature. The C-MaOJaya algorithm improved the balance between exploration and exploitation and avoids premature convergence significantly. The comparison shows that the proposed C-MaOJaya algorithm is a promising approach to solve many-objective optimization problems.

Metal complexes of [2-(2-hydroxynaphthalen-1-ylazo)-pyridin-3-ol] are derived from 2-amino-3-hydroxypyridine and β-naphthol was synthesized and characterized by thermal, spectral and analytical tools. The ligand was reacted with Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) in 1:2 stoichiometry. The IR spectra confirms the azo ligand coordination to metal ions via azo nitrogen and phenolic oxygen of pyridine after deprotonation. Both IR and 1HNMR spectra recorded involvement of deprotonated hydroxyl groups with proton displacement. The magnified fluorescence was shown by Mn(II) and Ni(II) complexes. None of the prepared ligands or complexes show any NLO activity with KDP as standard. The DNA cleavage and anticancerous activities done. The influence of zinc chelates on cure characteristics of rubber compounds was estimated based on rheometer measurements. The ligand and metal complexes are tested in vitro against some bacteria and fungi species. The antioxidant activities, DNA cleavage and anticancerous activities done. In recent years, nano-filler-based hybrid composites have gained significant attention from the research community; The nano-filler-based hybrid composites can have potential applications in numerous sectors. Nano-fillers are bringing a leading development in material science and natural fibers-based composites. The present study considers the impact of various weight percentages of nano-titanium oxide (NTiO2) fillers (2%, 4%, and 6%) on the elastic features of novel hybridized banana-hemp fiber-reinforced epoxy composites. The proposed composite is analyzed for its elastic properties like longitudinal and transverse elastic modulus, axial Poisson's ratio, and axial shear modulus using homogenized micromechanical models, namely, Mori-Tanaka (M-T) model, Generalized self-consistent (G-SC) model and Modified Halpin-Tsai (M-HTS) model. The composite is modeled using one layer of banana fiber, one layer of NTiO2 and epoxy, and one layer of hemp fiber. All three layers of the composite are arranged in the sequence of banana fiber at 450, a layer of NTiO2 and epoxy at 00, and hemp fiber at 450. The proposed composite's vector sum deformation and strength are examined by employing the ANSYS APDL application. The results obtained in this study are compared with the experimental work mentioned in the literature. The composite reinforced with six weight% NTiO2 has the highest mechanical strength, and the modified Halpin-Tsai (M-HTS) model is the most effective in calculating the elastic features of the proposed composite. In addition to the above, the hybridization effect for the proposed composite is also estimated to analyze the tensile failure strain of banana and hemp fiber in the proposed hybrid composite structure.

A series of piperazine-based phthalimide derivatives 5 (a-l) were synthesized and extensively characterized using a variety of spectrum methods, including LC-MS, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, and FT-IR. All the derivatives were examined for their physicochemical, pharmacokinetic, bio-activity score, and PASS analysis. The 5e piperazine-based phthalimide derivative demonstrated promising antibacterial activity against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in the in vitro antibacterial studies. In comparison to streptomycin and bacitracin (10 µg/mL), the minimum inhibitory concentration of 5e against MRSA was discovered to be 45±0.15 micro g/ml. The anti-MRSA activity was validated with membrane damage studies by using SEM, and in silico docking studies were against 3VMT and 6FTB proteins of MRSA. In the toxicity study, 5e derivatives were evaluated against L6 cell lines. The results of the studies show the synthesized 2-(2-(4-((4-chlorophenyl) sulfonyl) piperazin-1-yl) ethyl) isoindoline-1,3-dione (5e) can be used for the development of anti-MRSA drugs.

The present paper elicits the zinc oxide nanoparticles-assisted synthesis of a new series of seven-membered 1,4-diazepine heterocyclic compounds as potent lead scaffolds. Structures of synthesized compounds were corroborated using spectroanalytical techniques viz, FT-IR, 1H, 13C NMR, Mass, and elemental analysis. Also, Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Energy dispersive x-ray analysis (EDAX), powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) were used to establish the structure and morphology of the synthesized nanocatalyst. The clean workup procedure, high to excellent yields, relatively short reaction times, and high atom economy are the incredible advantages associated with the protocol.

This study examined the nexus between electronic human resource management (e-HRM), employee engagement and organizational performance in small- and medium-sized Saudi firms. In total, 180 participants were randomly selected using convenience sampling. Structural equation model-partial least squares SEM-PLS, was applied for analysis purposes. The outcomes of this study show that there is no statistically significant relationship between organizational performance and e-HRM. E-HRM and employee engagement, as well as employee engagement and organizational performance, have a strong beneficial association. The results highlight the necessity of establishing efficient E-HRM procedures as a strategy to raise employee engagement and promote organizational performance.
