Digitalization plays a crucial role on current competitive market and it is associated with the utilization of digital technologies to change business model and to deliver new value-producing opportunities to the current business environment in an aim to move towards a digital business. Therefore, to address new business model, the purpose of this study is to explore the effect of digital customer experience and electronic word of mouth on sustainable performance of supply chain through brand image and supply chain image. In this study, data is collected from employees of Indonesian ICT companies. Clusters were formulated, and respondents were selected randomly. Three hundred and fifteen (315) responses were analysed with the help of structural equation modelling. The results indicate that digital customer experience and electronic word of mouth played positive role on promoting brand image. Brand image had positive role to promote supply chain image which influences positively on sustainable supply chain performance. Therefore, this study is important for Information Communication and Technology (ICT) industry to implement various e-commerce practices to promote digital customer experience and electronic word of mouth.

Digitalization is impacting almost every aspect of people’s life and is greatly affecting supply chain processes. At the same time, supply chains are becoming progressively more aware of their impacts on people, the planet and profits (triple bottom line perspective) and the concept of sustainable supply chain has received increasing attention among scholars and practitioners. In this context, this article aims to analyze scientific research on supply chain management in the field of sustainability and digitalization using a bibliometric approach. To this end, this article analyses 484 papers from Scopus database according to the following parameters: chronology, discipline, source, center, country and citations. The dataset consisted of articles from scientific journals published over the period 2002–2018. In addition, VOSviewer software is used to map the bibliographic material using the co-occurrence of keywords and most influential journals. The analysis reveals that: sustainability and digitalization are important emerging fields within supply chains that have increased significantly during the last ten years; the USA is the most influential country; and the topic is structured around 2 clusters (1) Supply chain management, concepts and practices and (2) energy related technologies. The results may facilitate the planning, designing, running and publishing of future research on this topic.

The present article exposes a model of Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) as a support for strategic decision making, guided to the location of facilities in ethanol supply chains under a configuration of collection centers of raw material and production plants, directly impacting costs related to logistics and operations. The model is applied to the supply chain for the production of ethanol from two by-products and a coffee residue (pulp, mucilage, and stems, respectively) in Colombia. The results obtained by the model allow identifying locations for the corresponding links to the three types of biomass considered, and the flows of raw material between coffee producing departments and collection centers, from the latter to production plants, and from this, where the transformation of ethanol to mixing centers is generated.

Studies on supply chain resilience have been well documented, but most of these studies were conducted at organizational level and hence the role of facilitating managers in the supply chain is conspicuously neglected. The purpose of this paper is to explore the effect of tripartite social capital (bonding, bridging and linking) on managers’ resilience building and to examine the underlying mechanism through which these relationships exist. Data were collected through self-administered questionnaire from 452 supply chain managers in Nigeria, a country that has been rocked by series of environmental turbulences. The measurement and structural models were assessed by Partial Lease Square Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) using SMART-PLS 3 software. The findings suggest that linking social capital influenced manager’s resilience, but bonding and bridging did not. Bonding, bridging and linking influence manager’s commitment. Additionally, manager’s commitment mediated the relationship between tripartite social capital and manager’s resilience, Theoretical, practical and methodological implications were also discussed.

With worldwide growth in tourism, most of the countries have begun to consider the importance of the tourism industry. However, the Indonesian tourism industry is not working with reasonable performance to contribute to economic development. This industry is lacking a good supply chain in hotel industry and the performance is not promising. Therefore, this study addressed this issue by considering supply chain marketing planning capabilities and supply chain marketing implementation capabilities to facilitate tourism industry with better supply chain management in Indonesian hotels for attracting tourists. Thus, the primary objective of this study is to examine the role of supply chain marketing planning capabilities and supply chain marketing implementation capabilities to boost tourism industry performance. The results indicate that supply chain management was the most crucial issue for attracting tourists. It was also found that supply chain marketing planning capabilities and better supply chain marketing implementation capabilities were the most important factors to enhance the tourism industry performance through customer orientation and knowledge management.

This paper examines the effect of supply chain on performance indicators including sales growth and market value in the context of manufacturing firms in Kuwait. The dimensions of supply chain; namely strategic supplier partnership, information sharing, and information quality are also added in the model. Along with sales growth and market value, industry leadership, future outlook, overall response to competition, overall business performance, employee’s productivity, process productivity, and success rate in the launching of new product are some of the important indicators for measuring firms’ performance. Both factor analysis and structural equation modelling approaches are applied to the sample of 314 respondents taken from the manufacturing firms in Kuwait. Factor analysis provides some evidence that all the indicators for supply chain and business performance can be considered for the structural modelling and regression analysis. The core findings under structural modelling indicate that both strategic supplier partnership and information sharing had positive and significant impacts on the overall business performance. However, information quality appears to be the insignificant determinant of business performance. For the sales growth and market value, strategic supplier partnership and information sharing are significant determinants obtained through the regression analysis. The originality of the study can be viewed with reference to the selected performance measures and their determination through supply chain management. However, this study is confined only to the manufacturing sector and the services sector can be focused by incorporating additional performance measures and suitable sample size in future studies.

Ethics plays an essential role for the success of all business units. These days, it is not sufficient to boost the performance of supply chain companies just by focusing on financial figures but we need to consider the ethical dimensions, particularly at an organizational level. It is evident from the prior investigations that the performance of the supply chain industry in most of the Arab countries has not gained reasonable growth. Most of the Arab countries are facing issues for development good supply chain management in various departments. Bahrain maintains a low performance in the supply chain compared with other Arab countries such as Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia. The logistics index of Bahrain has been decreasing in recent years. Therefore, to address this problem, the objective of this study is to examine the role of workplace ethics in supply chain management among supply chain companies of Bahrain. The study considers three dimensions of ethics, namely; organization culture ethics, leadership ethics, and training ethics. Employees on the managerial positions are selected as the respondents. These respondents are selected from the supply chain companies of Bahrain. Questionnaires are distributed among these employees to collect the data. By using the structural equation modeling, data are analyzed through PLS. The results conclude that workplace ethics has significant contribution in supply chain management. Better implementation of workplace ethics always contributes positively on supply chain management.

Access to water resources is one of the demanding issues of the 21st century worldwide. As worldwide population increases, the demand for water is seriously increased. With the increasing demand, water quality is also under growing stress which requires better supply chain management (SCM) by adopting strategic management practices. Therefore, the objective of this study is to examine the role of supply chain strategic management in customer satisfaction and the performance of the water supply company in Makassar, Indonesia. In this study, service quality and drinking water quality were taken as the strategic management activities. Employees of water supply companies were selected to collect the necessary data. Questionnaires survey was used to collect the necessary data from employees. Three hundred (300) questionnaires were distributed among the employees of water supply companies of Makassar, Indonesia. It was found that strategic management practices were vital to enhance water supply chain. Moreover, it was concluded that water supply companies of Makassar needed better supply chain activities to boost performance. Better supply chain implementation was the key to customer satisfaction and the performance of the company.

During the past few years, there has been a declining trend on the performance of Indonesian supply chain companies. The performance of the Indonesian supply chain companies is relatively low compared with other countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore. To address this issue, the primary objective of this study is to examine the role of computerized accounting system (CAS) in supply chain accuracy. A survey was conducted to collect the necessary data from the managerial staff of supply chain companies in Indonesia. PLS-SEM was implemented to analyze the data. The results indicate that CAS had a significant positive relationship with supply chain accuracy. Computerized accounting system supports supply chain operations, which increases the accuracy of the supply chain system. Computerized accounting system also provides the ease of use and usefulness, which enhances the supply chain activities and decreases various issues. Therefore, the computerized accounting system is the key to gain accuracy in the supply chain.

In the current decade, with an increase in e-commerce, the logistics activities have grown rapidly. However, the logistics industry of the Malaysian country is declining, as the ranking of this industry has shown downfall continuously during the past few years. The decrease in logistics industry performance reduces the contribution in a Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Therefore, to address this issue, the primary objective of this study was to examine the role of strategic management accounting practices to enhance the profitability of the Malaysian logistics firms. Questionnaires were adopted to collect the primary data and they were distributed among the employees of the logistics companies. All the questionnaires were distributed through area cluster sampling technique. Partial least square (PLS) structural equation modelling (SEM) was used to analyze the collected data. The results indicate that strategic management accounting practices had a significant positive relationship with supply chain outcomes and supply chain outcomes had a significant positive relationship with the profitability of the logistics companies. Finally, this is one of the pioneer studies, which examined the impact of strategic management accounting practices on the outcome of the logistics firms.
