Disruptive impact as the Covid-19 pandemic reduces the motivation of managers working in the supply chain function. A motivation as organizational commitment is crucial for organizations to foster supply chain resilience through enhancement of internal and external supply chain integration. This study draws upon the budgeting literature to explore the role of participative budgeting on the supply chain resilience amid Covid-19 pandemic. Data were collected from 191 managers working in supply chain functions of organizations operating in industrial zones in Vietnam. The technique of partial least square structural equation modelling was used to assess data. The results suggest that Covid-19's disruptive impact increases participative budgeting, which results in organizational commitment. This commitment leads to the enhancement of internal and external supply chain integration, which in turn leads to supply chain resilience. This study is the first study to explore how and why budgeting practices lead to the enhancement of supply chain resilience amid Covid-19 pandemic.

This paper investigates factors affecting the profitability of real estate firms in Vietnam by using data of 55 real estate firms listed on Hochiminh and Hanoi stock exchanges over the period 2010-2018. The study applies estimation using panel data which consists of Pooled Regression model (POLS), Fixed Effects model (FEM) and Random effects model (REM). Generalized Method of Moment (GMM) is also implemented to resolve some problems such as autocorrelation among the residuals, heteroscedasticity and other potential endogenous problems. In this study, firm profitability is measured by return on assets. Like earlier studies, the findings indicate that the factors determining firm profitability were leverage, age of the firm, current ratio and inflation rate. Moreover, the results also show the impact of economic growth rate on firm profitability. The paper of-fers strong implications for the authorities, real estate firms as well as investors.

The objective of the research was to assess the factors affecting the quality of social infrastructure projects in the industrial zones in Hanoi, Vietnam ver the period 2018-2019 by means of qualitative and quantitative research methods where the quantitative research was conducted by an independent survey agency to enhance the objectivity of data. Adopting PLS - SEM method of Smart PLS, 3.0, we analyzed data from 396 valid questionnaires and the results showed that materials, design, construction and Stakeholder had positively affected the quality of Social Infrastructure Projects (SIPs). In the meantime, the project size also played a moderate role on the quality of social infrastructure projects.

The research analyses the impact of non-interest income on the performance of 26 Vietnamese commercial banks in the period of 2008 - 2017 by the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) method. The research results show that: (i) The average non-interest income ratio of Vietnamese commercial banks is only 8.32%, a significantly low level compared with the interest income ratio of more than 90% of the total income of the banks; (ii) Non-interest income has a positive impact on the performance of Vietnamese commercial banks in the research period. The research results assist in confirming the trend of diversifying non-credit activities to increase non-interest income ratio of Vietnamese commercial banks.

Although prior studies draw upon natural resource-based views, environmental strategy permits competitive advantages, and as such, gains financial performance. However, empirical results are mixed. To shed light on this issue, this study proposes that environmental performance mediates the link between environmental strategy and financial performance. Data were collected from 175 third-party logistic providers currently operating in Vietnam to test the hypotheses. Partial least square structural equation modeling was borrowed to test the data. The results reveal environmental performance partially mediates the link between environmental strategy and financial performance. By considering the mediating effect, this study contributes to the literature by addressing the intervening mechanism of environmental performance on the inconclusive relationship between environmental strategy and financial performance. Besides, this study also extends prior studies by borrowing a concept of environmental strategy, which captures the extent of organizations pursuing this strategy, to explain how and why pursuing this strategy permits environmental and financial performance.

This paper investigates firm heterogeneity in total factor productivity across Vietnam domestic private sector with sixteen manufacturing subindustries over the period 2010-2016, with a focus on labor size and based on total factor productivity (TFP); including TFP level, TFP distance, and TFP dispersion. Our results indicate that, in the private sector, labor heterogeneity on productivity are very dependent on specific manufacturing sectors, and on type of TFP. From an industrial policy perspective, there is hence productivity related reason on why Vietnamese policy makers should prefer large and extremely large firms over small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in some manufacturing and vice versa. Our results provide a support for both SMEs and large private consortiums, depending on specific manufacturing sectors. In addition, since there is a strong evidence to suggest that labor heterogeneity in TFP exists in some manufacturing sectors, the rationality behind policies to support SMEs and large firms at every manufacturing sectors seems to be questionable.

This paper analyzes the causal relationship between the banking system development and the real estate market in Vietnam from 2004:Q3 to 2018:Q4, with the use of the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) model as the analysis method. In Vietnam, there is no empirical study on this issue. Therefore, the paper is the first empirical evidence for the relationship between the banking system development and the real estate market in Vietnam. The research results show that the banking system development (measured through the domestic credit to the private sector) and the real estate market had a positive causal relationship in both short and long terms. In addition, the paper found a statistically significant impact of the global financial crisis on the banking system development and the real estate market in Vietnam, which is a new discovery compared with previous studies.

The objective of the article is to evaluate the role of laws and regulations on food safety in the implementation of food safety laws in Vietnam. Food safety regulations through business orientation, supply chain dynamic capabilities, and supply chain integration aim to ensure food safety and improve firm performance in Vietnam. Research data analysis is based on 389 food firms and the data are analyzed through Smart PLS 3.3.0 software. The results show the important role of food safety law in the implementation of food safety assurance of food enterprises. At the same time, supply chain dynamics and supply chain integration are also factors that have a statistically significant positive impact on the food safety performance of food enterprises in Vietnam.

This article aims at determining the impact of corporate social responsibility (CSR) on the operational performance in Nam Dinh seafood enterprises, Vietnam. To achieve this objective, surveys were conducted on 158 Nam Dinh seafood enterprises and the necessary data were analyzed with Smart PLS 3.0 software. The results show that CSR had positive impact on financial and non-financial performance of Nam Dinh seafood enterprises. Non-financial performance includes: Customer loyalty, government support and business reputation. On that basis, some recommendations are made for Nam Dinh seafood enterprises to help these businesses confidently implement CSR for future sustainable development.

This paper performs an empirical investigation on the effect of audit quality on performance of companies listed in Hanoi Securities Trading Floor, Vietnam. For the purpose of the article, the study conducts a comprehensive analysis of data based on 228 companies listed on Hanoi Securities Trading Floor using software SPSS 22 and Smart PLS 3.0. The results indicate that audit quality positively impacted the financial performance of the companies listed on Hanoi Securities Trading Floor. The results also indicate that audit quality also positively impacted to customer loyalty and employee satisfaction. The study also provides some recommendations for the improvement of the audit quality in Vietnam.
