Based on the context of Thanh Hoa province, the research proposes the model of policy related factors from the action of government (at all level) influencing on the survival and the development of SMEs. The research was conducted by collecting data from 512 SMEs in Thanh Hoa province. The results indicate that tax supporting policy and the preferential policies of the bank were crucial factors affecting the development of enterprises during the Covid 19 pandemic, directly. Other factors included insurance policy, capital support packages of Government, the act of public administration and the role of professional association which were considered as important elements affecting the enterprise’s development. Based on the results, the study proposes policy implication in order to support SMEs overcome difficulties during the coronavirus pandemic.

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) play a major contribution to the Indonesian economy. Along with the development of a centralized economic direction on consumers, the use of technology in all fields, and information transparency, SMEs must also be able to adapt in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. This research aims to develop strategies for strengthening and developing SMEs and mapping the hierarchy policy of developing a creative economy-based SME business model in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 in the Province of Bali. The data in this study were collected through documentation, FGD, and interview techniques, then analyzed using SWOT and MULTIPOL analysis techniques. The ability of creative economy-based SMEs to compete in the global era depends on internal and external factors. The analysis shows that SMEs in the Province of Bali are in a position of growth and built, so the strategies adopted are intensive strategies or integration. Development policies for SMEs, especially in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0, need to be directed so that the guided SMEs become independent SMEs. The policy package for the development of target SMEs includes technology, capital, marketing and infrastructure policies.

The aim of this study was to determine whether the innovativeness variable can mediate the influence between market orientation and marketing performance in the culinary industry in West Java Province, Indonesia. More specifically, this study analyzes the relationship among market orientation, innovation and marketing performance in the single mediation model by placing mediation variable of innovation. The samples involved a total of 209 culinary industries under the auspices of the agency of cooperative and SME services. By using a simple linear regression analysis with SPSS and AMOS v. 23 we understand that innovativeness had the ability to mediate the influence between market orientation and marketing performance. Likewise, market orientation has a positive influence on performance. The implication of this research is that entrepreneurs can improve their innovation capabilities to improve the SME performance. This study recommends that government policies should encourage innovation in SMEs and encourage SME managers to pay more attention and manage innovations to improve their operational performance.

This paper investigates the effects of different dimensions of innovation on the competitive advantage of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The main dimensions of the innovation retained in this study are related to different types of innovation, innovation activities, sources of internal and external information, and public support for innovation. In this study, we rely on the principal component analysis of innovation applied to a sample of 231 Tunisian SMEs. The results show that product innovation, organizational innovation and innovation activities were the key variables for enhancing the competitive advantage of SMEs. In contrast, external sources of information have no effects on the SMEs competitive advantage. The originality of this research is to provide a multidimensional framework of the effects of innovation on the competitive position of SMEs.

The consequences of reverse factoring in a supply chain are examined in this article. Reverse factoring occurs when a buying firm offers a reduced short-term borrowing rate to a supplier company in exchange for longer payment terms. From the standpoint of a supplier, this paper investigates the impact of rating changes, interest rate fluctuations, and business cycle position on the cost-benefit trade-off in the SMEs and manufacturing companies. However, the data was collected using a questionnaire. The main result is that changes in critical financial variables like ratings, news alerts and interest rates will shift former win–win circumstances for the supplier dependent on the business cycle into win–lose situations for the supplier. Overall, the reverse factoring results reveal sophisticated trade-offs, necessitating careful consideration in managerial decisions.

Most SME owners have understood the importance of several strategies to run their business more professionally. Financial literacy, technological literacy and supply chain practice are some of the important strategies to maintain the sustainability of SMEs. The research was conducted in Indonesia, in the East Java region whereas a developing country, SMEs are the backbone of the economy because most of the people are involved in this sector. The research sample was taken from data recorded at the Export Center office, and as many as 485 SME owners were involved in this study. Quantitative analysis using SEM-PLS analysis found that financial literacy, technological literacy, and supply chain practice contributed positively and significantly to the sustainability of SMEs. If SME owners are aware and understand the importance of financial literacy and are supported by technological literacy and strengthened by supply chain practice, then the opportunity for SMEs to run their business in a sustainable manner is even greater.

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) on e-business adoption and the impact of e-business adoption on the value chain of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The study uses a quantitative approach where the respondents are 389 SMEs that use e-business in Indonesia. Partial Least Square - Structural Equation Modeling analysis is used in this study to analyze data and test hypotheses. The study results describe that technology, organization, and environment significantly influence the e-business adoption of SMEs. Furthermore, e-business adoption has a substantial impact on the value chain of SMEs. The study provides an overview of SMEs in Indonesia to determine the factors used as references in e-business adoption and how good e-business adoption will add value to businesses, especially in the value chain.

This study aims to develop a measurement scale for Supply Chain Integration (SCI) and Firm Performance (FP) in Jordanian SMEs. The study instrument was developed based on the previous studies and the survey included 284 companies in Jordan. A sample of 263 responses were used for exploratory analysis. Results show that the 46-item instrument was loaded on four factors. During this phase, the measurement scale was purified to 36 items, and characterized with a high degree of reliability. The results were confirmed using confirmatory factor analysis and showed that the 36-item measurement model met the empirical requirements namely, convergent, construct, and discriminant validity. The fitness indicators test for the model shows that it is applicable in SMEs companies’ environment in Jordan. The study presented implications for decision-makers in SMEs companies. The limitation of this study was presented which were relied on to develop directions for future research.

This research was conducted on SMEs in Indonesia, by prioritizing the local wisdom of the Indonesian nation as a tropical, agrarian country, with SMEs owners who process fruits and vegetables into snacks as respondents. The study involved 243 respondents, to determine the partial and simultaneous influence of human resource competences and supply chain management on financial performance. The reason for doing this research is because some of the research that has been done by previous researchers still discusses this on corporate and not on SMEs. However, market conditions have changed. SMEs need to be managed professionally, by minimizing expenses to maximize revenue, taking into account risk, resource capabilities, in flexible ways as well as low-cost. The results showed that there was a significant influence on the financial performance of SMEs with the presence of human resource competences and supply chain management either partially or simultaneously.

The purpose of the article is to examine the response of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Vietnam to supply chain finance and then have a strategy to use supply chain risk resilience to control supply chain risk and improve supply chain effectiveness and SMEs performance. The analysis results are based on three months of data collected from 890 SMEs in Vietnam. The results show that supply chain finance has a statistically significant positive impact on supply chain effectiveness, SMEs performance and supply chain risk resilience. At the same time, supply chain finance has a negative impact on the supply chain risk of Vietnam SMEs in the global supply chain. Finally, we offer recommendations to help SMEs improve supply chain effectiveness and performance through the supply chain finance tool.
