This paper gives insight about the association between market orientation, entrepreneur orientation, learning orientation, technological orientation and access to finance, and SME’s performance in Indonesia. The study provides a clear understanding about the relationships among SME’s performance in Indonesia and market orientation, entrepreneur orientation, learning orientation, technological orientation, and what mediating role financial access plays in this relationship. The study broached that it is apparently essential to identify the strategic variables which may reflect the aforementioned management activities or processes, such as marketing, innovativeness, risk taking, technology and learning culture, which SMEs use and that probably influence their performance. The study is among the pioneering studies on the issues related to the market orientation, entrepreneur orientation, learning orientation, technological orientation, and access to finance in Indonesia. The study uses SEM-PLS as statistical tool to answer the research questions raised in this study and research objectives envisaged in the current study. The findings of the current study have provided support to with the hypothesized results. The study has argued that to deal with the current external opportunities and menaces, new knowledge and skills for improving their existing and future performances must be provided for the organizations. The study will be helpful for policymakers and researchers in examining the link between market orientation, entrepreneur orientation, learning orientation, technological orientation, and access to finance in Indonesia performance of SMEs in Indonesia.

This research aimed to examine the effect of the model of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programs on SME Innovation (SI) by involving Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO) as the mediating variable. This quantitative research used a Structural Equation Model (SEM) analysis technique with SEM-PLS 3.2.9 software. Respondents in this research were small businesses as mitra binaan of the Oil and Gas SOE in Wast Java Province, consisting of 87 small businesses or enterprises engaged in fashion, food, beverages, toys, and educational props. Sampling was done using a purposive random sampling technique. The results showed that CSR programs had a significant direct effect on Entrepreneurial Orientation and SME Innovations. It was also found that Entrepreneurial Orientation was significantly and directly correlated with SME Innovations. CSR programs had a significant indirect effect on SME Innovations through Entrepreneurial Orientation. The study confirmed that CSR programs impacted SME Innovations by involving entrepreneurial orientation to strengthen the influence of CSR programs on small businesses.

This study aims to assess the influence of green HR management and Green Supply Chain on practices for initiating green business and environmental sustainability. The research also incorporated the mediation role of environmental sustainability between green HR practices, Green Supply Chain, and green business. A structural study methodology was used with 220 samples drawn from manufacturing companies in the province of Central Java. A questionnaire was used to collect data. The PLS(SEM) was also utilized to assess the constructs' reliability and validity as well as investigate their hypothesized links. The finding of this study indicates that environmental sustainability significantly mediates the relationship between green HRM, green supply chain, and green business. The research also finds a positive relationship between green HRM, environmental sustainability, and green businesses. Similarly, findings also found a significant relationship between green supply chain, environmental sustainability, and green industries. The results of this study can be applied to strengthen the resource based theory and literature of HRM and supply chain management. There are several practical managerial implications for improving the performance of manufacturing companies in Central Java. They provide recommendations for practitioners and managers to improve the business performance of companies based on green HRM, green supply chain, and environmental sustainability.

Human resource management is the key component for every organization. The empowerment of human resource is a strategic decision which in return affects the organizational productivity. The purpose of the present study is to examine the impact of HR empowerment through information technology, cultural dimensions and organizational knowledge with their impact on Muhammadiyah higher education productivity in Indonesia. To address this objective, a questionnaire was developed as a core instrument to collect primary data from the employees of Muhammadiyah higher education. A final sample of 138 respondents was collected for applying the structural equation modelling (SEM) approach with the factor analyses. Additionally, validity of the questionnaire was observed through three measures; namely Cronbach’s alpha, average variance extracted and composite reliability. Findings through structural equation modelling approach specify that all three dimensions of HR empowerment have shown their positive and significant influences on Muhammadiyah higher education productivity. However, this study is limited by various perspective. First, data is collected from Indonesia through employees of Muhammadiyah higher education only with limited generalizability of the findings. Second, the study has not discussed the combine effects of human resource empowerment on the overall productivity of Muhammadiyah higher education but with individual dimensions like cultural, information technology and knowledge factors. The findings can be meaningful to boost the performance and productivity of higher education while understanding its structural relationship between human resource development.

The objective of this study is to examine the impact of client, consultant and contractor related fac-tors on mismanagement in public and private contracts in the region of Indonesia. A structural questionnaire is developed for the selected items after detailed investigation of present literature. A final sample of 137 respondents associated with various contracts in the region of Indonesia is collected with demographic details and regression analysis. It is observed that factors like lack of strategy, failure to compile the documentary requirements, poor planning, delay in decision making, financial issues, late payments, difficulty in getting work permits and lack of management expertise are core issues, creating mismanagement in public and private contracts. In consultant related factors, role of inexperienced consultant, poor planning, late of instructions from architects, poor contract management, and poor-quality assurance are the key determinants of mismanagement in contracts. While contractor related factors like poor planning and scheduling, late or improper submission of con-tract, inadequate site supervision and inspection, poor construction methods, weak leadership, and lack of communication between the parties are the key indicators of mismanagement in contracts. As per significance, this study is found to be a reasonable addition in the present literature from the context of contract management. Originality of the study covers the significant findings for the policy makers in the field of public and private contracts. Study can be reworked in future through better sampling, and addition of more factors related to materials, equipment and labor causing for the poor delivery of the contracts.

This study intends to cover the relationship between contract management and performance characteristics from the context of Indonesia. To address this objective, contract management is observed as the main independent variable while performance through nine items is considered as dependent variable. A questionnaire is developed through some selected factors and distributed among various respondents, dealing directly or indirectly with the projects. A sample of 70 respondents is finalized with no missing values. Empirical findings suggest that for the firm performance different variables such as nature of the solution, cost & benefit analysis are significantly associated with the contract length. While project delivery and project quality are negatively associated with the contract length. Findings of the study are highly recommended for the contract managers and similar individuals, responsible for the smooth business performance. However, future studies can be conducted with the addition of more explanatory factors for contract management with better sample size. Manage-rial implication of the study defines that Government and construction companies should reconsider the stated factors for the improved results through resolution of the conflict with the customers, cost benefit analysis and timely delivery of the project with budgetary compliance.

This study examines the effect of strategic management on work performance through organizational commitment, and the influence of strategic management and organizational commitment on employee performance who worked at Muhammadiyah University of Indonesia. The sample used according to the calculation of cluster sampling probability proportionate to size model (PPS) with the formulation of Slovin which yielded 386 employees at 12 muhammadiyah universities in Indonesia. The developed instrument combines part of the existing questionnaire related to strategic management, organizational commitment, and work performance, using the Likert Method of Suc-cessive Interval (MSI) scale. The data were analyzed by regression equation using SPSS 21 soft-ware. The findings of this study concluded that strategic management and organizational commit-ment affect the performance of employees. Moreover, strategic management along with organiza-tional commitment affect the performance of employees. Finally, the effect of strategic management factors under the title of understanding of planning, adequacy to company, and utilization along with organizational commitment is observed positive on the work achievements. For the better un-derstanding, the effects of these factors should also be observed as presented through regression findings of the study. Based on such findings, it is suggested that management of the selected universities should consider the integration between strategic management, organizational commitment, and work achievements.

This paper examines the relationship between public policy and education management in Indonesia by looking at various indicators influencing the public policy and the education management. For education management, factors like education achievement at elementary & higher school, college enrolment, job market in both local and international levels and social development are observed. Public policy is studied through work force development, higher education, brain drain, public safety, constitutional convention, job approval, legislature and operation policies. To examine this association, a survey questionnaire is developed and presented on various respondents regarding public policy and education management. A sample of 327 respondents is empirically examined and it is observed that the effect of work force development on elementary school achievement was significant while the effect of brain drains, job approval and legislature were crucial for the presented indicators of education management. Further studies can be conducted while considering other aspects of both public policy and education.

The idea of supply chain management (SCM) is covering its perspective in the form of flow of material and information from the business to customers. Its application in the field of tourism is also very much significant. The objective of present study is to analyze the empirical association between the supply chain management and tourism industry from the context of hotel industry in Indonesia. For this purpose, a questionnaire-based approach is followed while taking the demographic factors regarding age, gender and qualification. A sample of 272 respondents is finally accepted for the empirical examination between supply chain and its implication in tourism industry. Both descriptive and regression analysis are conducted. To analyze the factor of supply chain, sixteen items are considered from the existing literature while considering the strategic supplier partnership, information sharing, and information quality as the key indicators. The factor of tourism is meas-ured through four different proxies. The practical implications of the study are taken both the tourists and key policymakers while dealing with the SCM and its integration with those hotels dealing with the tourism and related services. This study contributes towards the future trends in the form of integration for SCM and tourism industry.

This study aimed to explain the role of supply chain practices on operational performance, and supply chain practices on company competitiveness and to analyze the impact of company competitiveness on operational performance. In addition, we also investigate the impact of supply chain practices on operational performance through role of company competitiveness as mediation variable. The study was conducted in South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. Primary data were collected by questionnaire instrument from 108 food and beverage companies. Method of analysis was both descriptive statistical analysis, and Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). The study also used Sobel test to determine significance level of mediation role in the model. The results show that supply chain practices could give a positive impact on operational performance. Supply chain practices also gave a positive impact and significant on company competitiveness. Then, company competitiveness had a positive impact and significant on operational performance. Additionally, supply chain practices also had a positive impact on operational performance indirectly through the role of company competitiveness as mediation variable. Hence, supply chain practice was the most important variable to increase both company competitiveness and operational performance. Each company is recommended to implement this variable as competitive weapon in order to get a better operational performance and competitiveness as well.
