The most significant impacts on the environment and society of corporate operations occur in the supply chain. Environmental impacts occur at different stages of the environmental life cycle and relate to the extraction of raw materials from the earth, the processing and manufacturing of building materials, the construction process, operation or use, maintenance and repair, repair and eventual disposal or reuse of materials. Environmental phenomena of climate change or global warming are the result of human practice. Global warming causes an increase in ocean temperatures and surface of the book, causing melting of polar ice caps and rising sea levels. Another phenomenon of waste and sewage problems has become a national and international problem. Every supply chain activity in a series of production activities has an impact on the environment. Supply chains can have different organizational structures that reflect business relationships or the level of collaboration between chain companies. This study examines the relationship of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) with Environment Supply Chain Management (ESCM) and Sustainability Supply Chain in Manufacture in Indonesia.

This study aims to assess the success of implementing Lean Manufacturing (LM) practices in food companies in Indonesia through the mediating role of Manufacturing Agility Competencies (MAC) to improve Operational Performance (OP). The method used is survey method. The study uses a positivist paradigm to see the effect of Lean manufacturing on operational performance. Testing used Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) by the Partial Least Square (PLS) approach. Finding of this study reveals that lean manufacturing practices have no positive effect on operational performance in Indonesian food industries. Meanwhile, the mediating role of Manufacturing Agility Competencies has succeeded in increasing the effect of Lean Manufacturing on operational performance. The originality of the research lies in the process of forming Manufacturing Agility Competencies as a strategy with a long process based on the experiences and observations made in food companies in Indonesia.

The rice industry policy must be comprehensive with a scope of policy from upstream to downstream. In other words, it must cover all supply chains of the rice industry consisting of five levels, such as, the level of farmers who process rice, grain traders, rice traders, rice traders in production areas and rice traders in urban markets.The purposes of this research are (1) to identify and model the current supply chain system of the rice industry; (2) analyze the simulation of the rice industry supply chain system policy; and (3) recommend rice industry policies which provide incentives for all rice industry supply chain actors. The research method used is the case study method. The aim is to understand a phenomenon in the rice industry supply chain system in depth in West Java Province – Indonesia. The results show that the rice industry supply chain system model is a closed cycle consisting of material flow feedback in the form of grain, rice, money and information flow in the form of demand that occurs in the interaction of actors from farmers, grain traders, rice milling units (RMU), rice traders in production centers to rice traders in urban wholesale markets in Bandung and Jakarta. Every businessman in the rice industry has the same goal, which is to maximize the profits. Thus, it can potentially lead to a conflict of interest which is manifested in the desire of every businessman to sell as much as they produce at the highest possible price but this will not happen because of the limited resources they have, such as capital and the market demand they receive. The strategy of increasing production is often carried out by the government at this time which it cannot be done partially without considering other rice industry supply chain instruments. The impacts of this partial policies are farmers, collectors, rice traders and rice mills gain unstable profits and the benefits received are lower than before the production strategy and policy were implemented. The recommended policy strategy is the rice industry supply chain system should be able to guarantee the availability of sufficient rice and capable of guaranting the welfare of farmers with a policy that integrates rice farming and agro-industry production strategies, financing strategies and accessible to all levels of actors in the rice industry supply chain, human resource development strategies and rice business risk management strategies, simultaneously. The integrated policy strategy needs to be carried out since rice supply chain management is a coordinating system of material flow in the form of grain, rice, money, facilities and information flow in the form of orders or requests, knowledge and innovation.

The purpose of this study is to measure the impact of institutional environment as government regulation and managers’ capabilities to maintain the relationship between the stakeholder networks and the entrepreneurial orientation within the context of the hospital industry in Indonesia. The results of data analysis from 105 small and medium private hospitals in the Jakarta city and surrounding areas show that the hospital entrepreneurial orientation was significantly influenced by government policies reflected by the legal certainty and bureaucratic attitudes that assist the implementation of the policies. Besides, it is proven that management capabilities to establish the relationships with many stakeholders, consisting of all existing partners and employees, also affect the growth of entrepreneurial orientation. Finally, the performance of the hospital is proven to be significantly influenced by the entrepreneurial orientation directly and also mediated by business model innovation. The results of this study become paradoxical because it is different from the opinion that the healthcare industry would not have accepted the concept of entrepreneurship.

The demand for property increases every year in line with the population growth in Indonesia. Moreover, the society believes that investing in the property will have future benefits since there is an expectation of an increase in strong middle-class consumer spending made to the residential business segment and also urban society demands for apartments and condominiums. Loans and mortgages are often made by both owners and developers in order to own the property. Therefore, this study investigates the impacts of financial liquidity and leverage on the financial performance of the Indonesian property and real estate enterprises. The study considers three (3) selected companies listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange LQ 45 (IDX LQ 45) over period five (5) years (2012- 2016). The secondary data are obtained from the financial statement (comprehensive income statement and statement of financial position) of selected property and real estate companies listed on IDX. This data is analyzed by using the regression analysis; the t-statistics and F significance ANOVA were used to test the hypothesis. The result of the analysis show that Current Ratio (CR) and Debt-Asset Ratio (DAR) had a negative relationship with Return on Assets (ROA) while Times Interest Earned (TIE) had a positive relationship with ROA in Indonesia property and real estate industry.

This research covers such aspects as colleagues' relationships, work environment, salary level, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment. The primary objective of this paper is to identify different aspects of employee turnover intention. Partial Least Square Method (PLS) is applied to determine the important factors of employee turnover intention. The result shows that job satisfaction and organizational commitment maintained an adverse and significant effect on turnover intention while salary levels had an adverse but not significant effect on turnover intention. Coworkers and workplace relationships also had an adverse and significant effect but had no direct effect on turnover intention.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the difference between the brand selection decisions before and after the ad serving and to examine the impact of attitude, which is owned by the consumer before the ad, to the changes in consumer decisions in the selection of the brand. This study was conducted using causal research design. The sampling method used was non-probabilistic sampling and sample size of 540, consisting of 270 users for brand Pantene and 270 users for brand Rejoice. The results of this study indicate that the attitude of consumers before ad serving had an influence on several changes in the selection decision. This research is important for marketers to continuously understand consumer attitudes, by knowing the type of information on the brand owned by the consumer, the ability of consumer groups in information processing, and the ownership of motivation to process the information.

The two-tier board system practiced in Indonesia provides greater opportunity for the majority shareholders to place representative on board which may expropriate interest of minority share-holders and increase information asymmetry. This study looks at the influence of family ownership on firm’s performance, by differentiating the influence of family ownership from family involvement in companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Family ownership is measured based on family’s equity ownership in the firm and family’s involvement. This study explores family in-volvement in threefold: involvement in the board of commissioners, involvement in the board of directors and involvement in both boards. Firm performance is measured based on Value Added Intellectual Coefficient (VAIC) which comprises of capital employed efficiency, human capital efficiency, and structural capital efficiency. Data was collected for a period of three years from 2007 to 2009 on 155 firms which were identified as family firms. The findings show that family ownership has a positive influence on firm performance. Family involvement, however, shows mixed results. Family involvement in the board of commissioners has a positive but insignificant influence on firm’s performance. Family involvement in the board of directors has a negative influence on firm’s performance. Family involvement in both boards has a positive influence on firm performance. The findings suggest that family involvement in both boards creates a balance between the supervisory function and the management function, thus resulting in a more effective monitoring of firm’s management.

This study aims to analyze the influence of word of mouth and university reputation on student decision to study at faculty of economics at the Universitas Islam Sumatera Utara (UISU), Indonesia. This research uses quantitative approach with explanatory research type. The sample size includes all 177 new university students of academic year 2015-2016 and processed statistically with multiple linier regression method. Results show that word of mouth does not positively influence on students’ decision to study. Otherwise, university reputation partially had a positive and significant effect on students’ decision to study. In addition, word of mouth and university reputation influence on students’ decision to study. This shows that prospective students do not consider word-of-mouth good and bad information of the UISU, but rather consider the university's reputation in choosing a place to study. UISU should do more professionally in fulfilling facilities and infrastructure and improving the quality of lecturers. Tight competition requires universities to always build a good reputation through new breakthroughs that can be a mainstay and have a high selling value. UISU is required to be more professional by prioritizing user satisfaction.

Small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) of Batik play strategic roles such as a substance, a mover, and a buffer of the nation’s economy and supporting the national economic growth sustain-ably. However, these SMEs have not been able to compete in both national and international levels. This is caused by the low rate of knowledge-creation. In line with this, this study aims to reveal how the knowledge-creation can create the competition atmosphere of the SMEs with the support from technology and entrepreneurship orientation. Additionally, the methodology employed in this study was explanatory survey design, with 286 Batik business units as sample. More specifically, the sampling technique to select the target area was non-probability in form of purposive sampling. The data were then analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Further, the result of this study reveals that knowledge-creation influences on creating the business competition atmosphere with the support of the technology and entrepreneurship and orientation. Based on the research finding, SMEs Batik finds it difficult to organize the collection of Explicit Knowledge into a more systematic media, due to the lack of media infrastructure to keep the knowledge. In addition, tech-nology adoption is not necessary for handmade batik by considering that handmade batik relies on personal skill.
