The purpose of in this paper is to study demand fluctuation of dairy product and the forecasting practices that have been used by Raipur Dugdh Sangh (Devbhog dairy industry) in Chhattisgarh. The objective is to detect how these industries have used forecasting method, what are the main factors that influence their choice and what are the main difficulties in the use of forecasting methods. Based on literature survey, weekly data collected over October 2011 to October 2012 from Raipur Dugdh Sangh (Devbhog dairy industry) in Chhattisgarh. Data were analyzed by statistics technique using the Microsoft excel software. The result shows that the demand of milk product fluctuated over the period of time. The factors that influence the choice of forecasting model are the type of product, time spent in forecasting and main difficulties are the availability of software.

A bronsted acid-surfactant catalysed and simple, mild, metal catalyst free and chemo-selective method has been developed for synthesis of 1, 3, 5-triaryl benzenes from aryl methyl ketones. The advantages of this protocol subsume green and sustainable reaction medium, mild reaction conditions, easy product recovery and its good yields.

Turning is the utmost elementary process among several CNC machine tool operations which is a versatile, efficient and widely used in industries including mechanical, aerospace and automotive sectors. Most frequently the manufacturing industries face the problem of cutting down the production cost without any oblation in the quality of products. Selection of process parameter is essential for assuring a quality product. Convenient choice of the cutting conditions, parameters and tools for the maximum Material removal rate (MRR) and surface finish needs a sophisticated approach adopting mathematical and statistical models as well as experimental method. Taguchi’s method is a very compelling tool to optimize the process variables. The intention of the present study is to determine surface roughness (Ra) and MRR which are key responses to justify the quality of turning operation. Four process parameters have been selected viz. Nose radius (NR), depth of cut (DOC), feed rate (FR) and spindle speed or cutting speed (CS) that influences these responses. During machining operations, the influence of the process parameters and their interac-tion have been analyzed using a statistical tool ANOVA. Aluminum alloy is widely acceptable by industries owing to its good strength to weight ratio, high resistance to corrosion, malleability and excellent resistance during elevated temperatures.

Cash is the life blood of the organizations and cash management is the important aspect of any organization. Corporate cash management boosts the companies from small to giant in the competitive environment. In this study we highlight three factors of a good cash management practices. Such factors are Cash Conversion Cycle (CCC), cash holding and credit score. Influence of one factor to other helps organizations manage their corporate cash in better way. In this study, we collect data from Capitaline corporate database of Mumbai, India over the period 2002-2011. Using some regression techniques, we observe that due to higher credit score companies forced to minimize their CCC and it helped to maintain lower level of working capital.

This paper investigates the instantaneous economic order quantity model by allocating the percentage of units lost due to deterioration in an on-hand inventory by framing promotional effort cost and variable ordering cost. The objective is to maximize the net profit so as to determine the order quantity, promotional effort factor, the cycle length and number of units lost due to deterioration. For any given number of replenishment cycles the existence of a unique optimal replenishment schedule are proved and mathematical model is developed to find some important characteristics for the concavity of the net profit function. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the results of proposed model, which benefit the retailer and this policy is important, especially for wasting of deteriorating items. Finally, sensitivity analyses of the optimal solution with respect to the major parameters are carried out.

A series of novel dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones derivatives is synthesized by using Rhizopus Oryzae lipase biocatalyst in deep eutectic solvent. The reaction is characterized by high efficiency and selectivity, short reaction time, mild and environmentally friendly reaction conditions. The yields are found to be significantly higher and reuse of both the lipase and deep eutectic solvent is possible up to four consecutive cycles. The products are found to exhibit appreciable in vitro antibacterial activity against Echerichia coli, Pseudomonas neumoniae and in vitro antifungal activity against Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans.

In the era of technology, the demand of the software development increases at a very high speed, as software has touched the human’s life in all aspects. The better quality software development acquiring minimum development time leads to the team work in which a group of people has been formed that work together in a team for the software development. One of the most significant issues in effective and efficient teamwork is the team leader selection because the team lead-er is the person in any team that is going to handle all types of managerial activities such as leadership, motivation to others, etc. The team leader selection process may be dependent on numerous conflicting selection indexes that make it a Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) problem. In the present research, an MCDM approach namely, Euclidean Distance Based Approximation (EDBA) which is based on the calculation of the composite distance value for each alter-native from a hypothetical optimal point is presented. The result of this study provides a comprehensive ranking of team leaders that leads to the right selection of team leader in information technology (IT) sector.

In this paper, we develop an inventory model for deteriorating items with exponential time dependent demand rate. In this proposed model, shortages are allowed and partially backlogged. The model is explained with the help of numerical examples. We also show that total cost function is convex with time. Sensitivity analysis of the optimal solution with respect to various parameters of the system is given and results are discussed in details. Taylor’s series expansion is used for finding closed form optimal solution. Some results have been also obtained.

The conventional and microwave assisted multicomponent synthesis of disubstituted 1,2,3-triazoles from terminal alkynes and in situ generated organic azide using copper apatite catalyst in water is reported. The catalytic activity is intimately connected to the basicity of the catalyst. The best activities were observed with the copper hydroxyapatite. The catalyst could be used ten times without further treatment and activation under controlled microwave heating. The protocol was also applicable for various alkynes and halides which affords desired product in good to excellent yield.

This paper addresses the application of group Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) to Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM), for assisting decision makers by evaluating, ranking and selecting material handling equipment (MHE). The present study considers engineering economy as one of the erudite tool for performance evaluation of said equipment in the integrated and synergetic way. Lastly, incremental analysis is used for final ranking of the equipment under inquisition.
