The purpose of this study is to identify factors affecting the performance of the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Vietnam. The research team uses a sample size of 456 SMEs. The information is collected by the authors based on the survey results and the financial statements of SMEs listed on Vietnam stock market. Descriptive statistical methods and multivariate linear regression analysis are also used in the study. The data processed through SPSS 20.0 software and the research results show that factors of access to government support policies, education level of enterprises owner, enterprises scale, society relationships of enterprises and revenue growth rate affect the business performance of SMEs in Vietnam. In addition, the study uses a multi-variate linear regression model based on the least squares method to estimate the factors affecting the performance of SMEs in Vietnam. The research results also show that the performance of the enterprises is influenced by different factors: scale, growth rate, profitability, and industry cohesion of enterprises. On that basis, the article proposes some solutions to improve the performance of SMEs in Vietnam in the current period.

This study aimed to find out the impact of work-life balance on employee satisfaction in five-star hotels in Amman, Jordan based on a descriptive analytical approach. The questionnaire of the survey was designed and distributed to a sample of participants in order to collect the necessary data for this study and they were analyzed later through the SPSS V22 program. The study population was the hotel sector in Jordan, while the study sample included the five-star hotels in the capital, Amman, and the sampling unit included the employees of the middle and lower levels of management in the five-star hotels in Amman. The study showed a number of results, including the existence of a good level of work-life balance by employees in top manage-ment in the five-star hotels in Amman, as well as the high level of employee satisfaction within the sector. The study recommended the importance of the need to identify the concept of work-life balance and understand the relationship to achieve better satisfaction for the employees. The study also recommended future studies to determine the effect of work-life balance on the employee satisfaction in different sectors in Jordan.

Financial Stability and Payment Systems Report of the Bank Negara Malaysia reported that household debt grew by 5.4% to RM1.09 trillion from a year earlier. Notably, households merely borrow or use credit for pur-chasing in order to smoothen their consumption. Less secure and vulnerable current, and retirement stages would be the result among public employees in Malaysia due to high household debts. Enhancing trend of better financial management practices is essential, especially for working employees due to the increased levels of existing personal indebtedness, and increasing focus on personal responsibility for financial planning among them. Nowadays, employee’s role in managing their finances is becoming complex due to experiencing with the complexity of financial commodities in the marketplace. Therefore, studying of the determinants of employees’ financial well-being (FWB) among employees in Malaysia is the major objective of this research. The sample of 590 employees in the public sector from four states was selected by applying multi stage sampling technique. The data gathering was accomplished using a self-administered questionnaire. According to the re-gression analysis, contribution of the variables to the model was 32.3%. Money attitude, financial practices, self-efficacy, and emotion coping had conspicuous contribution to FWB, while financial practices were identified as the key performing aspect to FWB. The findings of this study are beneficial to the government, and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to create a comprehensive approach specially to advance the living standards, and enhance the FWB of the lower-household income cluster of employees. More comprehension about the determinants of FWB plays a vital role to support workers to equip with financial prudence, and in the long-run would minimize the rate of Malaysian workers with financial difficulties.

Knowledge plays an important role for the development of any economy, any business especially within the law profession which requires profound knowledge. Knowledge sharing behaviors may improve the performance of the work. The proposed study of this paper is conducted among 398 lawyers in Vietnam to assess the factors affecting the knowledge sharing behavior of lawyers. After analyzing data based on Smart PLS software, the results show that the knowledge sharing behavior of lawyers in Vietnam contributes to their jobs except for the development process according to the planned behavioral theory. At the same time, the paper examines the mediating role of behavioral intent for the relationship between attitude and knowledge-sharing behavior which is statistically significant. However, the level of information use does not have any statistically significant role for the relationship between intentional behavior and knowledge sharing behavior of lawyers in Vietnam.

For a country to support the transition of all economic sectors to a knowledge-driven one, attract foreign investment, and drive labor productivity, it is necessary to have access to skilled workforce. However, there is currently an insufficient talent supply and the workforce demand does not match the talent supply because of low graduate employability stemming from the low quality of higher education in Malaysia. To address this issue, this study proposed a conceptual framework to illustrate the perception of graduates towards the impact of curriculum design, the curriculum vision, the operationalization of the curriculum vision, the curriculum delivery, and curriculum evaluation, on employability competency. A sample of 299 employed graduates participated in this research. Smart Partial Least-Squares (SmartPLS) version 3 software was used to evaluate the hypotheses of the survey. The findings of this study reveal that curriculum design positively and significantly influenced employability competency. Hence, this study contributes important insights into the implementation of effective curriculum design, striking a balance between practical and theoretical bases, in private and public Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).

This study aimed to identify the factors influencing on electronic banking services provided by Jordanian banks. Perceived usefulness, ease of use, trust, privacy and security and convenience are the factors investigated in this study. A sample of 300 clients working at King Abdullah University Hospital staff who were active bank accounts in different local banks in Jordan was selected, randomly. To collect the primary data, the study used a questionnaire design based on a 5-point scale. Results of the study found that perceived usefulness, ease of use, trust and privacy directly and positively influenced on e-banking usage. Convenience was found to have no effect on e-banking services. The study recommends that an understanding the factors affecting e-banking is very essential for the practitioners who seek new ways of banking services in the current competitive environment.

Employee engagement is one of the most important issues in human resource management in order to ameliorate the turnover intention in organizations. Employers often face different challenges of finding ways to increase the interaction with their employees in order to have good labor force. This paper investigates the effects of different factors on employment engagement in Vietnam industries. The results indicate that work-life balance and work stress positively impact on employee engagement. However, our results do not confirm that working condition could positively impact on employee engagement nor did we find any evidence to believe that relationship with supervisor could positively impact on employee engagement. In terms of mediation effect, work-life balance, in this survey, mediates the relationship between working condition and employee engagement. Also, work-life balance mediates the relationship between the relationship with supervisor and employee engagement. Moreover, work stress mediates the relationship between working condition and employee engagement. Finally, work stress mediates the relationship between relationship with supervisor and employee engagement.

In industrialized countries, about 30% of the population may suffer from foodborne illnesses each year. Ma-laysia has proven to be a country that has very serious focus on food, but the people do not care much about their food safety. Food safety and hygiene is usually explained as the multiple conditions and ways to pre-serve food quality, so that foodborne diseases and contamination is prevented. University students face with high risk because of their unsafe behaviors in consuming food. There have been many studies accomplished on comprehension, behavior and implementation towards food safety among food handlers. The current research desires to determine the current knowledge, attitude and practice status among students in Management & Science University (MSU) on food safety. The study framework focuses on testing the relationship between knowledge, attitude and practices and whether or not attitude will be a mediating factor towards practices on food safety among university students in MSU. Using a quantitative and descriptive method, a structured questionnaire was distributed among 430 respondents. The result of the study was analyzed using regression test and indirect method. The result shows that the students had a good knowledge, attitude and practice status towards food safety and attitude was a partial mediating factor in the relationship between knowledge and practice.

Internal auditors are considered a valuable source of information since they are more familiar with the company and its environment. This study aimed to identify the relationship between internal and external audits affecting the quality of firms' reports. To achieve the objectives of the study, a 30-item questionnaire was developed and sent to 312 external auditors and managed to collect 276 (88.5%) properly filled questionnaires. Descriptive statistics and multiple regression were used to test the hypotheses of the study. The results show that Jordanian auditors perceived favorably the cooperation between internal and external auditors to enhance the quality of financial reporting. For instance, the results revealed positive and significant effect of objectivity in enhancing the level of cooperation between internal and external auditors in a way that increased the level of financial reporting quality. Moreover, the quality of financial reporting has been affected positively resulting in the positive effect of the technical competence of the internal audit’s work and professional care. Finally, the cooperation between the two auditing teams was noticeable through the nature and scope dimension that, in turn, increased the quality of financial reporting. Based on these results, external auditors are highly recommended to rely on internal audit works which could lead to enhance financial reporting quality.

Entrepreneurs who are operating small businesses focus on faster growth of their firms through greater wealth creation. This wealth creation process requires skill and investment in terms of time and capital. However, the success or failure of entrepreneurial teams depends on personality differences among the entrepreneurs. In this context, the present study explores the impact of the Big 5 model traits on the team entrepreneurship and the performance of the ventures among the small businesses in the UAE. Further, the study encapsulates how these personality traits can help in solving business problems and achieving long term success for the business. In this regard, the researcher conducted a survey on 49 employees working in 5 entrepreneurial businesses in UAE. The findings of the study highlighted that sub-factors of big five leadership traits broad-minded, gregarious, assertive, responsible, anxious and emotionally depressed, significantly impact the team entrepreneurship of small businesses in the UAE, aiding in increased customer base, venture skills, stock values, and innovating of new products.
