Selection of an appropriate supplier along with planning a good inventory system has become an area of open research for the past few years. In this paper, we present a multi objective decision making supplier and inventory management model where two objectives including the quality and offering price of supplier are minimized, simultaneously. The proposed model is formulated as mixed integer programming and it is converted into an ordinary single objective function using Lp-Norm. In order to find efficient solution, we use NSGA-II as meta-heuristic technique and the performance of the proposed model is examined using some instances. The preliminary results indicate that both Lp-Norm and NSGA-II methods can be used to handle problems in various sizes.

Many supplier selection problems are involved with various criteria such as quality of supplier, price, delivery time, etc. This paper presents a survey on the implementation of using different multi criteria decision making (MCDM) methods for supplier selection problems. The reviews covers recent advances of MCDM techniques such as data envelopment analysis (DEA), analytical hierarchy process, etc. over the period 2000-2012. The review also reveals that nearly 60% of the applications are associated with business unit, 15% is related to economy, 9% is devoted to service and development and 8% is dedicated to research and development. In our survey, DEA has become the most popular technique for supplier selection problem followed by Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP).

In this paper, we consider a multi-period integrated supplier selection and order lot
sizing problem where a single buyer plans to purchase a single product in multiple
periods from several qualified suppliers who are able to provide the required product
with the needed quality in a timely manner. Product price and order cost differs
among different suppliers. Buyer’s demand for the product is deterministic and varies
for different time periods. The problem is to determine how much product from which
supplier must be ordered in each period such that buyer’s demand is satisfied without
violating some side constraints. We have developed a mathematical programming
model to deal with this problem, and proposed a forward dynamic programming
approach to obtain optimal solutions in reasonable amount of time even for large scale
problems. Finally, a numerical example is conducted in which solutions obtained from
the proposed dynamic programming algorithm is compared with solutions from the
branch-and-bound algorithm. Through the numerical example we have shown the
efficiency of our algorithm.

The aim of this research is to present a hybrid model to select auto part suppliers. The proposed method of this paper uses factor analysis to find the most influencing factors on part maker selection and the results are validated using different statistical tests such as Cronbach & apos; s Alpha and Kaiser-Meyer. The hybrid model uses analytical network process to rank different part maker suppliers and fuzzy goal programming to choose the appropriate alternative among various choices. The implementation of the proposed model of this paper is used for a case study of real-world problem and the results are discussed.

Many supply chain problems are involved with different parameters, which are under uncertainties. One of the primary concerns on supplier selection is to handle the uncertainty under different circumstances. The primary objective of this paper is to design a model to select suppliers and to determine the amount of purchase from any supplier in the supply chain system. For this purpose, we select the most important criteria using fuzzy questionnaires where the questionnaire uses experts’ opinions in terms of linguistic values. Then, a hierarchy multiple criteria decision-making (MCDM) model based on fuzzy-sets theory is proposed to rank different suppliers and using a goal programming approach, we determine the amount of order product from each supplier. The implementation of the proposed model is demonstrated using a real-world case study.
