The research aims to test the impact of corporate social responsibility toward employees on employee motivation in Vietnamese businesses. Based on 804 samples, results show that, be-sides the factors of opportunistic behavior, all factors of trust and social responsibility had positive impacts on employee motivation. In particular, the trust has the largest level of influence. The study also pointed out the opposite effect of the trust and social responsibility factors of enterprises toward employees on opportunistic behavior in enterprises. The authors propose a number of recommendations to increase employee motivation in businesses in emerging economies, including Vietnam.

The study aims to examine direct and indirect impacts of managers’ emotional intelligence on performance of firms through determinants of job satisfaction, trust and opportunistic behav-ior. Data are collected from 617 respondents as managers of firms in Vietnam. The results show that the managers’ emotional intelligent not only had a direct and positive impact on the firm performance but also indirectly affects through two intermediaries of their satisfaction and trust. In addition, the findings reveal the relationship between determinants such as satisfaction positively influencing their trust and negatively affecting opportunistic behavior. Opportunistic behavior has a negative impact on trust and firm performance in the context of emerging countries like Vietnam.

This study aims to examine the impact of risks from information in the supply chain on the financial performance of enterprises, with the case study in Vietnam, using quantitative research methods, through SEM linear structure model analysis. With 412 samples who are managers of different ranks at enterprises, the study results show that risks from information in the supply chain not only have a direct, reverse impact but also have an indirect impact on financial performance depending on the level of interdependence of businesses. In addition, opportunistic behavior and the degree of interdependence have also been shown to have a reverse impact on the level of cooperation of enterprises. The findings of this study show a contribution both theoretically and practically, demonstrating the inherent negative risks of information in the supply chain to the financial performance of the enterprise. Research has shown the intermediate role of the degree of interdependence in the relationship between the above two factors. Based on the research results, the authors propose several recommendations to improve the financial performance of enterprises.

The study aims to test the impact of social responsibility toward employees on the business performance. The sample selected includes 667 employees in the enterprises. The research results show that the social responsibility factor had direct and indirect impacts on the business performance of enterprises through two intermediaries: cohesion and opportunistic workers’ behavior. Based on the research results, we propose a number of recommendations to increase the efficiency of business operations of the enterprises through improving corporate social responsibility toward employees in countries with emerging economies, including Vietnam.
