This study evaluated the relationship between cost and performance yield investment opportunities, cash and financial flexibility bank pays. For this study, a sample of 94 companies from companies that are part of corporate clients BSI was selected using random sampling technique. In addition, to measure the performance, three measures of economic value added, return on assets and return on equity were used. The study evaluated the relationship between cash and the opportunity cost efficiency as well as financial flexibility to invest in BSI over the period 2007-2012. Statistical methods used in this study were panel data regression. Four hypotheses were proposed to achieve the goals and the results showed that the opportunity cost of holding cash investments with financial flexibility and efficiency were inversely associated with financial performance.

Liquidity management in banks is a conflict between risk and return. On the one hand, the lack of liquidity, in addition to imposing heavy costs of providing resources (including borrowings from the central bank at elevated rates), may also lead banks to face with bankruptcy. On the other hand, the maintenance of excessive liquidity than needed will destroy investment opportunities and potential profitability. Therefore, for proper liquidity management, it is necessary to understand the factors affecting this sector to be able to exert control on each of the elements, and to prevent the incidence of problems or even crisis thereby optimize the bank profitability as far as possible. This study aimed to analyze the resources, expenses, and liquidity operating as the main activity parameters in Bank Shahr. During the study timeframe (2010 until the end of 2012), every 15 days was selected as the sample community, which were selected due to a 15-day trend analysis using census method and not by random sampling. The related data concerning each of the items, i.e. resources, expenses, and liquidity were collected and analyzed by linear regression based on time or periods of time. The above items were compared through analysis of the relative contribution to the total ratio and correlation analysis. The results showed that the growing trends of resources and expenses almost coincide and followed a specific trend and, in general, the growing trend of the resources was rising with a higher slope compared with those of expenses and liquidity. In addition, the growing trend of liquidity was almost identical throughout the entire period of study and no unusual trend was observed.

Performance measurement in managerial accounting is normally associated with cash flow and it is executed based on different figures such as testing information content abuse and accounting figures. However, increasing the information content in accrual components of earning and internal performance measurement provides additional informative insights. This paper studies the relationship between operating cash flows and earnings along with total shareholder returns. The study chooses the information of 54 firms from Tehran Stock Exchange. The results show that there were some meaningful relationship between the operating cash flow, profitability and the returns of all stakeholders. However, this happens by increasing profitability and cash flow of information asymmetry proportion to their correlation with the economic efficiency of shareholders’ returns.

E-banking has been extensively developed in recent decades and most banks need to have such services in their daily activities. Therefore, it is necessary that banks do a better management on banks’ liquidity risks. Electronic banking and the expansion of its scale from POSs and ATMs to telephone banking, mobile banking and internet banking have increased banking transactions, significantly. The purpose of this investigation is to evaluate the relationship between the development of e-banking and liquidity management using liquidity ratios. The focus of this investigation has been on the amounts of transaction of ATM machines, POSs and PIN PADs as the most important means of electronic banking. In this respect, the data obtained from 14 private and public bank representatives of banking system over the period 2007-2012 are considered. Our survey indicates that the characteristics of electronic banking significantly influence on liquidity.

This paper presents an empirical investigation to see whether or not there is any relationship between profit conservatism and investment sensitivity and efficiency of investments in listed companies of Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE). Using regression analysis, the study investigates whether there is any relationship between conservatism and sensitivity of investments, between profit conservatism and efficiency of company’s investments and between conservatism ability to create profit and cash in accepted TSE firms. The study chooses a sample of 102 firms from TSE market over the period 2005-2011 and the results confirmed that there were positive and meaningful relationship between all variables of the survey (? = 5%).

This paper studies the effects of cash conversion cycle (CCC) and size of selected firms listed on Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE) on four variables including return of assets, return of equities, tangible assets and equity multiplier. The study selects a sample of 105 firms listed on TSE and divides them into two groups of big and small sized companies over the period 2008-2012. Using a regression analysis, the study confirmed a meaningful relationship between different variables. In other words, in our survey, CCC and size negatively influence on tangible assets, they positively influence on equity multiplier as well as ROA but the effects of CCC and size on ROE for small and big firms are mixed.

This paper determines and ranks financial risk factors in Iranian corporations, using analytical hierarchy process (AHP). The present research includes one main question and four sub- questions. Its universe population includes managers, production and financial personnel of great corporations activating in Tehran Stock Exchange, who were selected to explain importance and weight of economic risks indices. The source of great corporations recognition is the Companies Registration Organization in Tehran Province, and according to this, there are 120 corporations. The results have indicated that financing risk maintains the highest priority followed by credit risk, liquidity risk, inflation risk and exchange risk. In terms of different risks associated with financing risk, risk of profit per share has been the number one priority followed by the risk of divisional profit per share, the risk of recessionary or boom and the risk of increasing partial pay profit rate. In terms of credit risk, the risk of loan has been number one priority followed by the risk of inability of loan payment and interest payment. Liquidity risk is another risk factor where demand has been the most important factor followed by rules and regulations and inflation risk. In terms of inflation, producers price risk has been the most important factor followed by consumer price risk, gross domestic product and producers price risk. Finally, in terms of different factors influencing exchange risk, export related issues are considered as the most important factors.

During the past 65 years, there have been tremendous efforts on portfolio selection problem. The standard Markowitz mean–variance model to portfolio selection includes tracing out an efficient frontier, a continuous curve demonstrating the tradeoff between return and risk. This frontier can be often detected via standard quadratic programming, categorized in convex optimization. Traditional Markowitz problem has been recently extended into a new form of mixed integer nonlinear problems by considering various constraints such as cardinality constraints, industry limitation, etc. This paper proposes a mixed integer nonlinear programming to determine optimal asset allocation on Tehran Stock Exchange. The results have indicated that a petrochemical firm named Farabi has gained 44% of the portfolio followed by a drug firm named Kosar Pharmacy gaining 28%. In addition, banking sector was the third winning firm where Eghtesad Novin bank gained nearly 10% of the portfolio. Minerals and mining firms were the next sector in our portfolio where Gol Gohar Iron Ore and Tehran Cement collected 0.73% and 0.57% of the portfolio, respectively. In our survey, auto industry gained only 0.26% of the portfolio, which belonged to Saipa group.

This paper studies the relationship between dividend changes and future profitability of listed companies in Tehran Stock Exchange. Using the information of 191 companies, the study has implemented some regression techniques. The results of the research model analysis indicate that the changes in dividend contain significant and important information content, for the future profitability and dividend changes, and have an important and positive impact on the future profitability of the company. The results also show that changes in dividend can improve the company & apos; s future performances and messages to recovery the activities and future performance of the company. However, the results have shown the greatest impact on the performance of the dividend changes, for a year after considered year and not for two years after. In other words, the information content of dividend changes are more about the performance of the next year and the information provided is lower in the next two years.

Banks are the most important tool for preparing and supplying money in each country. In recent years, by institution of the new private banks and privatization of the governmental banks, banking competition has become very complex. This paper performs an empirical investigation to study the effects of different factors on return on assets and return on equities on 18 selected Iranian firms over the period 2002-2011. Using different regression models, the study studies the effects of total assets, debt ratio, etc. on return of assets (ROA) and return on equities (ROE) on selected eighteen Iranian banks as statistical community. The study considers total assets, ownership ratio, deposits to assets ratio, and loans to assets ratio as independent variables, and ROE and ROA as dependent variables. The results indicate that the private banks returns were better than governmental banks and the commercial banks’ returns were better than special banks. There is a reverse relationship between logarithm of total assets and ownership ratio with profitability based on return of assets.
